Shared Education

Tullygally and Drumgor Primary Schools will be continuing to work together in The Shared Education Signature Project.

The overall aim of the project is to increase the level of sharing throughout schools in Northern Ireland. The programme is open to all schools who have some experience of working in a cross-community partnership with other schools.

Aims of the project:

  • Equip young people with the skills and personal capabilities to deal with the challenges of living in an increasingly diverse and complex society

  • Enhance the quality of the teaching of the Personal Development & Mutual Understanding (PDMU) area of learning, part of the statutory N Ireland curriculum, in a range of cross-community settings through the sharing of teacher expertise

  • Facilitate the sharing of resources between schools including teacher knowledge and expertise

We wish all involved to have an awareness of and, where possible, an active role in this shared learning.

Children participate in six shared lessons with the same year group from our partner school and explore themes surrounding awareness and respect for diversity as well as being able to celebrate our similarities and differences.

Keep an eye on your child(ren)’s Seesaw for pictures and updates.
